We wish we could say these photos were taken locally, but sadly that's not possible ...
Why? It's because our local council make no provision for Waverley residents to exercise their dogs by the water, and make totally inadequate provision for dog-owners to exercise their dogs off-leash.
That means we have to drive across Sydney to Sirius Cove for our dogs to enjoy the water.
How "Green" is that???
That's why we obtained hundreds of signatures in-store on the petition to have Mackenzies Bay declared an official off-leash area for dogs.
That would mean less chance of dogs being off-leash on the Eastern Beaches walk, or anywhere near the childrens' play area at Marks Park.
Did it make a difference? What do you think?
That's why we support
Barking Mad...
Are you a responsible pet owner?
Do you think your local council should make more provision to exercise your dog off-leash or by the water?
Are you renting and treated as a second-class citizen because of your companion animal?
Does your local council issue 600 fines a year for walking dog peacefully off lead or on a 'prohibited' beach, yet none for poo offences?
Then Barking Mad is the place for you, working for increased access to beaches, parks, transport and accomodation and to end the discrimination of responsible pet owners and to ensure access to community resources.
The majority of Australians are pet owners - if you want change, please give your support and join Barking Mad.
Your paid-up membership, starting at just $25, is worth 100 times more than signing a petition.
