FAQs

Q: I've given my dog stuffed toys and he tears them up almost immediately and starts eating the stuffing.
How durable is the Loopie for a dog like him?

A: First thing you should know is that this is a very common problem. You will have a hard time finding a "plush" fabric that will withstand a set of determined jaws that want to destroy it. Here are some solutions:

1. Find a toy with more than one squeaky. Most dogs will go after the squeaky and keep going until it's out. Finding a toy with more than one is good because the dog has more places to concentrate on, therefore making the toy last longer.

2. Don't hand the toy to your dog, throw the toy across the room. Teach the dog to FETCH the toy. Once the toy is destroyed or the stuffing is coming out...NEVER throw the toy again...and never give the toy BACK to your dog. He will learn that destroying the toy means he LOSES the toy. He won't like that and will eventually learn to not destroy it.

3. If the fetching trick doesn't work, then try using key words that your dog already knows when you are trying to get him to calm down or not bite.  When you see the dog starting to really try to damage the toy instead of play with it...calmly but firmly give him (or her) the command "LEAVE IT" or "DROP IT" or whatever word he knows. He will then eventually learn to go easy on the toy.

The Loopies Story

The genesis of Loopies® began one evening in 2001 while Cindy (DeAngelis-Duffy, Founder / President of Loopies) was watching a show on The Discovery Channel about attractive faces and the reason why we find certain people "good looking". It was all about symmetry; if the right side of your face is symmetrical with the features on the left side of your face then chances are people enjoy looking at you. And that was it, Cindy was already in the process of developing a line of toys and knew that the toys would be symmetrical.

After meeitng with an artist and a manufacturer; tshe had prototypes. Loopies symmetrically shaped toys in four different sizes with not just one squeaker...but SIX. After applying for patent and copyright registration she quickly discovered that not only did dogs and their owners like the toys; but kids and their parents did too!

The Loopies pet brand is now widely recognised and is a recipient of multiple awards including Pet Age trade magazines Pinnacle award of "Most Exciting Products of the Year"...two years in a row. Talk show host Ellen Degeneres included Loopies on her list of "Great Holiday Gift Ideas" in December of 2003 and rock star wife Sharon Osbourne featured Loopies on her show. In 2005 Loopies was given accolades again by Pet Age in their "Shelf Life" feature highlighting products that help retailers increase their bottom line.

Among high end boutiques and pet owners around the world, Loopies are considered to be one of the highest quality soft toy lines in the pet market today. Boutique owners also report that celebrities Kirstie Ally, Kelly Preston and Dave Stewart's pets are among the loyal Loopie loving pooches!
